Doug:

Garland Ranch is having a public star party tonight. It's suitable for public parties, not good
for dark-sky observing. So, if you want just a "few quick views", that would be the place.

I'll be there tonight, since I'm the coordinator for the MIRA Observers Group at the park.

Come on down!!

Subject: [TAC] Quick-look Observing Sights near Monterey/North Big Sur?

  Hi All-

I'm head down to Monterey and North Big Sur for the weekend, and I'm thinking about throwing a grab-n-go into the car. Does anyone have a recommendation for an easy access park or beach that is open after dark where I can grab a few quick views?

I've checked the local astro group out on the Web, the MIRA Observers Group, but they don't seem to have any info or events posted. Garland Ranch doesn't sound exactly open either, without an event.

  Cheers,
  Doug
