Here is a perfect opportunity to speak to an interested member of the State Legislature about the impact of closing Fremont Peak and other state parks.
There will be a legislative informational hearing on park closures and partnerships in the Bay Area next Tuesday, September 22 from 2-4 p.m. The Assembly Water, Parks and Wildlife Committee is convening the hearing, which will be held in the Callippe Room at Cavallo Point (Fort Baker). The address is 601 Murray Circle (Fort Baker) Sausalito, CA 94965. The committee chair is Assemblymember Jared Huffman (D-San Rafael), a proponent of keeping the parks open.
Committee staff are putting together panels of speakers. If you would like to be included, contact information for the committee can be found at http://www.assembly.ca.gov/acs/newcomframeset.asp?committee=26 . Besides the panel, there will also be a public comment segment of the meeting.
If you plan to speak at the hearing and need background information on FPOA, please look at our web site (fpoa.net) or contact me directly.
