I use the Astrosystems scope cover and you saw what happened at GSSP earlier this year and it kept my scope dry even though several galaons of water pooled in the cover.  It kept my scope dry during the Texas Storm Party 2007.  The rain we had at GSSP is nothing compared to what we experienced at Texas.
 
Just gotta maintain the cover by spraying the coating...whatever that stuff is called.
 
Your 16" done yet?
