Yes, sort-of: Hawaii looks like it is right on the very edge of the "transit in progress at sunset" area. See this map:

Best areas for a full transit mid-day seem to be Eastern Oz, Japan, Alaska.

I agree with you about watching a transit. I viewed much of the last Mercury transit in November of '06 as well as the previous one in November of '99. But once the silhouette of Mercury was clearly inside the Sun's disc, it's was a looong, slowww ride. From Northern Cal we miss the end of the 2012 Venus transit, but still see a few hours worth. Weather prospects in June should be good. Does Hawaii see the entire event?
