Fireball at 5:11 pm over SF Bay

I was driving along I-680 coming down toward Fremont and the SF Bay
when I saw a bright streak with a brighter-yet head, what looked to
me like a glorious fireball, descending westward. A first for me in
clear daylight. Unfortunately trees blocked my view and I was unable
to see whether it blew up or disappeared beyond the horizon. Anybody
else happened to see it and its fate?
