Something doesn't make sense here.

Is the rangers house actually in the park? Yes, right?

And one of the park's explicit missions is astronomy, per the gov's own web site: http://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=564

So, the park is letting someone live on the park, who is doing something that acts directly against the parks mission. Seems like he should have a LITTLE more influence on the situation than he is implying.

Anyways to answer your question about the SW lot, The SW lot is not closed for Stargazing. I have a new neighbor. A water treatment supervisor and his family have moved into the old Ranger house. They did a lot of renovating to the house. I will talk to him about leaving his light on. Unfortunately I can't make him turn it off if he doesn't want to. He said that some people were messing around his house and vehicles at night. Eventually they will be building a fence for him and hopefully that will solve the problem for everyone. In the meantime I am sorry for the trouble.
