I go to FP mainly so I don't need to mess too much with batteries.
However, fyi I do the observer membership and setup behind the gate.
Also, the surface is a bit nicer at FP.. Somewhat flat and paved.
(though the pads are not paved, as far as I am concerned.)

In my experience coe is good when there is fog, and still fairly dark in the
east w/o fog.

I guess I just like the amenities at FP a bit better (warming room, 110v
etc).

Fwiw, I've been skunked at FP a bunch.. And also had numerous nights
"sitting just above the clouds". Sometimes it is easy to predict the fog
situation, sometimes it is a roll of the dice.
