I am pleased to announce that my third video "The Summer Sky' is now
available on my website at
www.robhawley.net/bw/summer
and on YouTube under my RobHawleyAstro account
The first section of the video focuses on the Milky Way. I will introduce
viewers to the entire Milky Way starting with the portion visible in the US
during the summer and visiting portions only visible from the southern
hemisphere or during the winter. The video will show what the Milky Way
looks like in other portions of the electromagnetic spectrum. We will view
stars orbiting the black hole at the center of the galaxy. Finally we will
discuss the shape of the Milky Way.
The second section focuses on the Messier Object in and around Sagittarius.
I will present a beginner level description of what is known about each
object and why it is important.
In this section I discuss
* the Open Clusters M6 and M7 and describe an Open Cluster
* the Globular Cluster M22 and what is known about globular clusters
* the star forming regions and nebulas M8, M20, M17, and M16
Most of the close-up pictures were taken by amateurs (including Richard
Crisp).
The third section focuses on the objects in and around the Summer Triangle.
In this section I discuss
* the Planetary Nebulae M27 and M57 and describe what a Planetary is and
how to observe them
* The super nova Ruminant the Veil Nebula
* the Globular Cluster M13
The total length is about 25 minutes.

All of my videos can be downloaded for any non-commerical use.
I will be starting on the fourth video "The 3D Universe" in August. This is
based on a lecture I gave at a local astronomy club. Using HDTV I can do a
lot more with the material. This will be released in sections. If you are
interested you can check my website or subscribe to RobHawleyAstro on
YouTube.
