You know that the moon is a fascinating world to explore ;) Really. With a
big scope and some neutral density filters, you can get some marvelous
resolution. Get the LAC lunar charts to get down to the nitty gritty
details of surface features. Rukl's doesn't have that much detail and is
geared towards very small scopes. You'll need to use a computer though
(these charts are too large to print)... but what the heck, the moon is out!
And as far as lists go.... I whole heartedly agree with you. I still have
the lists, but I have three of them... a never ending project I'll never
finish. Every time I'm out, I do at least a few of them and then go have
fun returning to other beautiful deep sky wonders. It's sort of like
returning to Yosemite. I'll never tire of that either.
When I'm with friends, I do enjoy the interaction at looking at anything of
interest, dim or bright. There's always much to share and that's what's fun
with observing together.
