locally.
Just went to look at my notes on that amazing galaxy, and they make a handy
example of how we see more the more we look at stuff -
Coe, April Fool's Night for real, 2000: Off M102 (5866) toward iota Dra,
bright spindle.
Devastated 21 July ‘01, What a sharp knife-edged spiral! with slim dust
lanes. It was before that, 23 June ‘01, when Jeff C was showing off 5907 in
his 15 at LSA.
2 July ‘03 from Peak, Took up almost 60% of the 10mm field, showing a sharp
core with a bright linear nucleus moving away from the core. Tight long arms
with braiding. This is a mondo edge-on. This time I spotted a bright region
halfway out the southern arm.
Better go look again!
