Have seen mention generically of collimation tools in the Tectron tools
with only actual Tectron mention from Bill Cone's post, perhaps the name
was implied. For others to benefit I have in the last few months found
a good, simple explanation from a good source on the laser-less tools in
the Tectron tools which are recommended (along with laser as final tool)
by StarMaster (big Dob) telescopes as pre-laser collimation tools.

Easy, informative, and quick read of what each tool in the Tectron kit
does and when to use each tool:

The point of note is the cheshire is to be used after two adjustments of
secondary using the simple sight tube.

Also the link that Peter Natscher posted along this thread looks like an
amazing wealth of info.

Thanks Peter for this link:

Assorted other links off of above page seem well informed as well
including discussion of Barlowed laser in
http://web.telia.com/~u41105032/kolli/kolli2.htm

This all posted since we are not going to be going out to observe this
weekend anyway...
