The SJAA is upgrading some telescopes in its loaner program and needs to
sell a 13" F/4.5 Coulter Dob because it was not getting loaned out. I've
used this scope many times and enjoyed the fact that the OTA and base
were light enough to carry without assistance. This is not the original
boxy Coulter you may remember, but instead a version which has been
completely reworked and made MUCH lighter.
I'm not going to set a price, but instead ask for a small donation (min
$100) to the SJAA. You may also make a case for it to be donated for
free to a good cause.
This F/4.5 Dob includes:
Sonotube OTA with nice shiny red coating (cosmetically in fine
shape, see photo)
Telrad finder
8x50 Right angle finder
Nice 2" Helical focuser (focuses quickly by sliding the collar and
fine focuses by rotating)
Novak secondary holder + secondary mirror
Fairly lightweight base (see photo)
Not included:
Primary mirror
Primary mirror cell
