Dave:

As to local stores...you've compiled the list.

As to local clubs, there are at least 3; none of which are Pleasanton-based,
but all local:
Tri-Valley Stargazers, Livermore. www.trivalleystargazers.org Our next
monthly meeting is Friday, Jan 18.
Mount Diablo Astronomical Society, Concord, CA www.mdas.net Next meeting
4th tues.
East Bay Astronomical Society, Chabot S&SC Oakland, www.eastbayastro.org.
Next meeting Saturday, Jan 19th.

As to 8" SCTs, I *happen* to want to sell my Meade 8" UHTC SCT. Very good
condition, lots of upgrades. It's in Pleasanton. :-)

Subject: [TAC] Local Stores

Hi folks,

I have a friend that lives out in Pleasanton area and is interested in
picking up a scope. We both believe in supporting local stores and so I was
curious if there is a good place to go shopping in the east bay.

I am aware of and have shopped at the Orion store in Cupertino. And have
heard good things about Scope City in San Fran. FWIW he is looking at
picking up an 8" SCT.

Would be interested in learning about his options for local vendors.

Also, can someone provide a few links to East Bay clubs?

Thanks,

Dave
