Greg, thanks for this Scope City Observing Report. You transported me right
down memory lane, back to Sam's shop, where I can just picture Sam emerging
from his storage room with a big smile and booming voice. It seems we've
all stood there once or twice.

One time he really saved my butt when a particular piece of my Meade mount
broke, and a replacement part could not be ordered separately from Meade --
he dug around in his basement storage room and behold! He came up with the
exact replacement part, "no charge, on the house".

On the other hand, you've got to be careful: he's a good salesman. At every
visit, he manages to sell me eyepieces or accessories I maybe don't need.
Sometimes he sells me whole scopes I don't need.

It's been too long -- I should go back to see him again, with at least two
low-balance credit cards in hand.

Years ago I felt giddy after buying a scope from Sam, and I wrote a report:
