You are correct sir!

That too. But I've been to OSP. What was that, 11 hours, 13 hours?
We have TACos driving to TSP. While a four hour plus trip is *great*
like we currently have going to Lassen from the bay area, I would not
mind an 8 hour trip once a year. How long does it take you to drive to
RTMC Richard?
My biggest concern is having to bathe in those icy little alpine lakes
near Coyote Flats! Think about it!
Seriously though, if there used to be a paved runway up there, I am
guessing someone drove a truck of some type up the road from Bishop. If
that can be done, a shower truck might be possible. Remember, at OSP
the shower truck (and they have a monster) drives round trip from the
observing site to Prineville and back to refill, which is a good 35
miles each way. Refilling in Bishop would be a cinch by comparison.
So, I think we may be able to pull it off.
There are still a lot of questions about the site, but the only way to
get answers is to go. OTOH, it is great the Pierce is checking with a
bud up in Bishop about the road. That sort of local information could
be very useful.
