I remember when dating a former person that we had an astro/camping weekend
in the Sierras (Tahoe Nat'l Forest) all planned. Had all the essential
astro equipment + food + wine + everything. However, upon reaching Sacto
and stopping for gas, I went to the back of the pick-up to retrieve a book
for the rest of the ride. Getting the book, I couldn't help but notice that
there was extra space in the pick-up's bed. Couldn't quite put my finger on
why it looked so "barren" until my "former person" came around to see what
the hold up was...he was the one who immediately noted that we forgot the
tent, the mattress and our clothes!
Went back to SF then returned, set up camp, picked up a pizza and got our
telescopes set up for that evening - the one and only time I was grateful
for daylight savings time!
