Pete's right. I was one of the folks who scouted out LSA on the
nudging of the Shadow and Hudgins, in spring 2000. We thought man
what a great place for a fall party.

Now it's as big as it wants to get. First time we've had any growing
pains was this year. S&T ads should be out. At this point we want to
keep our gathering of the tribes for the tribes. Word of mouth. TAC
and SJAA announcements will certainly suffice. We _don't_ want to
publicize CalStar any more. This is an informal binge at the edge of
the wilderness with portapotties and spigots for infrastructure.

Vital point here - It's lovely to be utopian about amateur
astronomers. Yes S&T only brings in people in the hobby. And people
assumed that another observer wouldn't have snagged Jane's 13 Nagler.
Folks, whoever took it put on both eyepiece caps, top and bottom,
first. Only one of us would know to do that.

Joe Bob and I had a conversation about this yesterday morning.
Another group I'd like to assume purity about is Boy Scouts. And like
our community, it works well over 99.5% of the time, well above the
mean for humans. But we had a kid in our troop swipe a disposable
camera from another kid in his own troop, on Catalina this summer. I
said to Bob, "No human activity guarantees moral maturity."

We have enough people coming. No need to build empire at Lake San Antonio.
