This would make CalStar much more expensive to attend. Getting there
by 9pm is fine. Pack the night before. Leave by 5p with an extra
30minutes to account for traffic problems. But if I need to be there
by 8p then I basically need to take off a day from work. I would
think the same would apply to many other people coming from from the
bay area.
I was in late arrival exile area this CalStar. I had less problems
with lights then at the other two CalStars I have attended. People
that arrived late in the area knew to use their parking lights and
where mostly considerate. There where some non-astronomers that came
in with all lights blazing; I think this is the major problem that
needs to be resolved. Also point attendees at gaffer's tape. I'm
still surprised how many people don't know about this.
