Amazing Milky Way, M17, Barnard's Gx shots

Jim, those are amazing images!

I guess that I'm moved to post an 'attaboy' because I'm still in recovery
mode from my SoHem trip. The MW mosaic really reminded me of the zenith
view from Down Under. As I scan the mosaic from left to right, I could
easily believe that it was shot from the southern hemisphere - until I run
into the Montebello horizon on the right! Wow. The near-total lack of
extinction near the horizon is remarkable. You either had the patience to
shoot this on a very transparent night, or the processing know-how to
remove gradients, or both.

The 6822 shot is really neat, too. Makes it look like a Poor Man's
Magellanic Cloud. I think I need to train the Challenger on 6822 sometime.

I weep that Jim can't teleport down to a latitude with a negative sign on
it, so that he could shoot the SMC and LMC. I would love to see that.
Fortunately, we have folks like John Gleason on that job, so we're covered.

Marek
