I think Hardin may have bought or morphed from the remains of Coulter. From
what I have read, they seem to be equivalent to the solid tube dobs from
Orion,
Celestron, Meade, etc. According to those reports, it's a respectable
instrument, but keep in mind that a solid-tube 12" dob will be quite long and
bulky. Make sure it will fit in your vehicle and also find out how heavy is
the tube. Good luck.>>
I have a 10" Hardin dob. The scope itself is fine, and the mirror is good,
but not as good as the 10" mirror in Mark Wagner's 10". Mark's got a 'name'
mirror in his scope, but I forget who made it. The base is the thing that is
not holding up so well. Still functional and a bargain. I've had many nice
views through the scope. I'm happy with it.
