Today's Titan IV launch - with picture, :-)

Hello,

I just came back from the parking lot in front of my office.
I was hoping, against the odds, to see the Titan IV launch
from Vandenberg AFB. Just when I was about to go back in,
discouraged by the clouds, I saw the thin track of the rocket
climbing up in a patch of clear sky! Yesssss!!! :-)

After going back in, I had another pleasant surprise - I
had the Lick Observatory webcam site open on my desktop, to
check the weather. One of the cams was showing a faint but
unmistakable thin white streak - it had captured the launch!

Hastily, I copied the image from the webcam, before it got
refreshed and uploaded it for safekeeping on my site. Here
is the URL:

Can you see the rocket? (Look carefully at the left side of
the image.)

What a day! :-)
