My "public star party cheap trick": take the 4.5-inch at about 30x and
(yes) a moon filter. That particular view is maybe the most accessible
thing in the sky, and most attendees will think that mighty newt is the
finest scope they've ever seen.
        It is, in fact, the only use I have for the moon filter.
