It really is like a religous experience! That's why I'm so disappointed that I may not be able to see 47 Tuc for comparison.

Dennis,

One of the great sights on my trip to Chile was Omega Centauri in my 10"
f/5.7 Dob using a 20 Nagler, as it was rising over the Andes about 35
degrees elevation to our east. In the eyepiece, the bottom half was the
black silhouette of the craggy mountaintops, the upper half of the FOV was
filled with the thousands of stars of the cluster.
