I wasn't trying to address the current problem at the Peak with this suggestion.
My suggestion was not about sending complaints but an information sheet to
let political typed be more informed about out hobby. This should be an
on going process. Should we need to complain about something, at least
we wouldn't be an unknown entity.
I suggested this to the FPOA Board maybe 10 years ago. They didn't want
to do it because they thought it was best to keep a very low profile. They were worried
they state might put regulations on them. A lot of good a low profile did for them or
us.

Nothing hurts and gets more attention from a politician than bad publicity. We would be better served if a letter was written to the editors of local newspapers, or a combination of that and one NPR's morning perspectives (aka the morning rant).

It also will allow them to see what kind of resource they have without any $
out of their budgets...who wouldn't love to have someone or some group meet
public outreach requirements for them - they get the credit, the budget and
we get quality time under the stars in a safe environment.
