I think that it was more of a case of the vent from the pit supplying the smell. When I was there on Sunday it was pretty ripe within 15 to 20 feet of the facilities.

I would imagine that the "haven" is to not be exactly downwind no matter
how close you are. I suspect this means only moving a few feet.
Thinking about it, I believe having air flow toward the parking lot means
offshore flow (from the southeast). That rarely is the case at MB. It is
usually the onshore flow (and consequent fog) that we worry about.
I think you were subjected to rare conditions.
