Jamie Dillon started off with:
> I still wanna be like Phil when I get big.

After which Jason Newquist contributed:
> Here's a guy you want to keep around to rebuild
> civilization after the nukes go off.

Whereupon Turley (a.k.a. Tips, fearsome Co-List-Enforcer) me tooed:
> I can't tell you how many times Phil Chambers was right there
> when I needed him, even before asking.

Not to be outdone, LeFevre related a worthy Shingletown Chambers story, summing
it up with:
> Chambers is THE MAN. :)

Once upon a time, as I stood agog in the middle of Phil's Fix-it Shop of
Wonders, gazing with appreciation at the drills, saws, presses, benches, and
BMW intake manifolds, and the cabinets and drawers packed with bits, nuts,
taps, gaskets, brackets, sprockets, and flanges, and at the chunks of
closed-cell foam tucked up in the rafters waiting inclusion in some dew-shield
project, I thought to myself, "This is why I came to Silicon Valley from little
old Utah, to encounter such a craftsman", and I let out a contented sigh and
said to Phil, "I want to be like you when I retire".

Without a beat Phil replied, "I was like this before I retired".
