I was there last night Saturday and the weather and the people were fine. I
checked off the four objects in Aquarius that I had planned to observe, and
having accomplished that, I pretty much just socialized the rest of the time.
It was great to see Albert and his ultralight. He passed around samples of the
honeycomb-paper-sandwich plywood with which he constructed the ground box and
mirror box. Amazing stuff.
Car's still packed and the mood is still on, so I'm driving back up tonight,
ETA 8:00 PM. Stacy says she'll be there, which is great because it seems I
never see her and her scope except at major events like Shingletown.
Also, I'm bringing my wife's friend Taka, an nice Japanese lady who has
practically never looked through a telescope in her life, so Taka can get her
first taste of amateur astronomy.
Please come up and join us. See you there!
