Perhaps if on 'playback' (e.g. when you read it later) this info could colour your perception. I don't mean to say it should be harder to read if the transparency was bad, but if it were represented to you as a bar graph or something visual (icons, I hate icons) or subliminally meaningful, so that you would register 'o yeah, it was a sucky night'... which leads me to:
do you log to a database, or a spreadsheet, or plain text, or...?
