The most important thing is to anticipate input so one does not have to enter
things over and over again. As I start to type, suggest completions. Each
observation entered should inherit the previous observation as a template.
Odds are scope and location have not changed. Weather, transparency, and
seeing, probably has not changed. If it has, one can change it. I enter on
log entry per magnification. So all this is relevant to my way of logging.
Words like: Bright, steller, mottling, sprial, eliptical, extended,
resolution, faint, magnification, fuzzyand many many more can be anticipated,
suggested, and if correct, the tab or enter key puts it in. Things like N, S,
E, W, NE, ENE, SE, SW, etc... should be stored as their full directions.
North, South, East, etc...
Make it configurable so one can add words and phrases to the completion list.
Anything that makes typing repetitive words and phrases go fast. Think like
Herschel's wierd notation, only easier...
Just my two cents...
