Does anyone know whether, during the World Series on Wednesday, FOX ever tipped
their TV cameras skyward to show the eclipse to millions of viewers? There was
talk beforehand that FOX had the opportunity to broadcast a live image of an
eclipse to the largest audience ever ... I wonder whether they took advantage
of the opportunity.
Along the same lines, can anyone substantiate the legend that, once upon a
time, during a MLB or NFL outdoor game, a TV cameraman aimed his camera above
the rim of the stadium and zoomed in to show Jupiter and its moons, and/or
Saturn and its rings? I bet those cameras would do OK on Jupiter's moons, if
given the chance.
P. S. What, me chime in on yet another FP thread? Only briefly: Visit your
childhood neighborhood, or attend a school reunion -- it just won't be the
same. You can't go home again. Times have changed (whether it's fair or not).
The glory days of FP are like that.
