Again, I beg to differ. I believe it is a defense mechanism due to frivolous lawsuits. People don't want children playing on their vacant lots because if the kid gets hurt and the parents sue the owner. The owners scream for justice and the only way for the politicians provide it is to ban the activity. I really don't believe that there is a right or left agenda represented. Unfortunately we live in a litigious society and we all pay the price.
I will reference my favorite novel by Heinlein,
"TANSTAFL"
"There Ain't No Such Thing as A Free Lunch"

I havent.
I also believe in self determination. The thinking that the State or Gov
needs to protect us from ourselves is incorrect and leads to
totalitarianism.
This is the same line of thinking that gets us all of these idiotic
restrictive laws. Since traffic accidents cause the state to spend
money, lets BAN ALL driving and ban cars. We have gone over the edge and
continue to go downhill.
This is the reason that empty lots are closed to kids wanting to play in
them. etc, etc, etc, etc, etc.
The weather is the nice part about CA. The government is the rotten part.
I dont believe in one house legislatures but I also believe that Part Time
would cure a lot of our problems. Mostly because the folks making the
laws would have something else to do and possibly see the idiocy of their
actions.
Darwin had the right idea.
