Some friends using the 10D have gone considerably longer (8-10 minutes) at lower ISO values and lower temperatures. But 2 to 4 minutes is plenty -- for dimmer objects or deeper images, just take a bunch of the shorter ones and stack 'em. A tried and true method that works just as well for DSLRs as it does for CCD astro-cams :)
