Automating membership would certainly not preclude the role of the AL-COR
-- it would enhance it. It would also not preclude the manual method in
use now.
The AL-COR would still talk it up, and nag people to renew and deliver
awards. The way I envision it, the AL-COR could simply direct people to a
web-page where renewals and new memberships would happen, and these
renewals and new memberships would automatically be associated with TAC-AL.
It would take time and effort, though.
