Coincedentally, I was also looking at Porrima last night with a 6-inch stop
of my 18-inch Starmaster at 300x and it was clearly elongated or barely
dog-biscuit shaped with two merged airy discs but no hint of a clean
separation. At 0.51" and closing that's probably the best one can expect
with that aperture.
