I used a multi-voltage adapter like this, and it wouldn't work with my
Dell Latitude LS. That's why I assumed that there must be some
intelligence or conditioning in the Dell AC adapter. But I now use a Dell
CPx laptop so maybe it would work. I'll give it another try.
