primarily touring bikes. Anyways, I'd expect if you organized a astro thing
up there you'd be pretty much the only folks there. Unless there's an event
planned, there's rarely more than a few dropin campers on a weekend.
the mesa was remarkably UNdusty, although I imagine later in the summer wind
season, it could get a bit dusty.

yeah. only 'offroad' bikes I saw were BMW R11xxGS and 1 Triumph Tiger, both
really touring bikes that have some minimal offroad capability (aka
'adventure touring').
one thing I meant to ask... were this friday and saturday particularlly dark
clear nights everywhere? While I didn't have any sort of scope with me,
the stars seemed very bright and clear, with only minimal twinkling.
OH. I just checked, the mesa, which is only 100' or so above the valley
floor is like 3000' elevation. I didn't realize the Cuyama Valley was that
high up.
