For the most part, I think we all understand that loud noise in the morning is a no no. Since most of us have been to a few star parties, it would seem reasonable that we all have a handle on how to do things quietly if we happen to be up earlier than our astro-neighbor, that we abide by the noise time frames and that generators will be placed a safe but convenient distance by the director(s).
As Michelle and I stated in earlier posts, bring ear plugs if you are a particularly light sleeper. The responsibility to getting rest not only lays with others, but with yourself as well. (Another tip: bring an "eye" blanket...helps keep you in REM sleep as it blocks out the light - I have a particular wonderful black one with "rock star" stenciled across the front.)
Should you want to go off prior to noon, hey, go for it but do so in a quiet manner...a car starting will not be the end of civilization as we know it.
Things have been well planned the last years of CalStar and with the one exception of last year where one person was, uh, inconsiderate, I think the 2003 CalStar will be fabulous!
Now, get thee to thy star atlases and post what you plan on observing!!!!!
