Thanks for mentioning this, Jeff. A nice showing, with Io itself
between the two shadows. Observed the action from 9:45-10:15pm with a
12.5" Newt/Dob from my San Jose residence. On a scale of 1-5, seeing
averaged a 3, sometimes steadying to a 4. Paying attention to what I'd
learned from David Kingsley ten days earlier, during those moments of
better seeing, at 203x (9mm Nagler w/ Paracorr) Io's shadow edge
appeared crisper than Ganymede's. I thought the shadow sizes were
pretty comparable.
Chased a few asteroids, then called it a night at 11:00pm.
