I have just sent off a message to my Rep, Pete Stark, concerning this issue. I hope to hear from him soon. I do not think we should avoid mentioning astronomy in our communications though. Further pollution of our sky with 6 lanes of non-stop driving lights and the street lamp that go with it will only be another contributor to light pollution for amateur and professional astronomers alike. The main thrust of my letter to Rep Stark was that Rep Pambo should concentrate on moving the jobs to his area rather than the people in and out of it.
