It sounds like fun to me, I just marked the date on my calendar. I
was born in S.F. and we used to live at 44th and Geary, so I know that area
rather well. I'm not too worried about the salty air, or the fog.......but
if I remember correctly, there are a lot of cypress and pine trees whose
permanently disfigured shapes are leaning toward the east, due to years of
battling the ocean "breezes". Will I need tie-downs for my dob, or would a
Pronto on a concrete pier be more appropriate? ; ' )

It will be Saturday, March 8th starting at 6 PM. Land's End is just above
the Cliff House. Easiest way to get there from the south is to take 280 to
19th Avenue. Continue up through the Sunset, through GG Park as if you are
heading to the GG Bridge. 1 Block north of Geary, take a right, go one
block and take a right and then take a right on Geary (there are no left
turns allowed on 19th/Park Presidio Drive). Take Geary down to 48th avenue
(you'll see the Seal Rock Inn on your left.) Take a right, go through the
stop sign and continue until you come to the parking area where the USS San
Francisco Memorial is. Park and set up telescope.
Another way that I go is to take Skyline Blvd (Hywy 35) from the
south...just keep going until you come to the 3 way intersection of Skyline
and The Great Highway. Left on the Great Highway, up around pass the Cliff
House, continuing up to 48th Avenue...(Seal Rock Inn is now on your
right)...take a left and continue as above.
It would be great to have some Taco's there! BTW, only rain cancels the
event...there is a talk for about 30 minutes before letting the public loose
on the telescopes.
