A big Thank You to all who answered my eyepiece questions, both on-list
and off. Very helpful information...I learned a lot.
I suppose I should have mentioned why I was asking. No, I'm not
planning to replace my small collection of Panoptics and Naglers with
Orion eyepieces. Actually, I'm thinking of getting a binoviewer, cause
I have a serious floater problem when viewing the planets at high power
in a small scope. I'm under the impression that a binoviewer may solve
the floater problem.
The first step on that road is to decide whether I can afford it or
not, which means understanding the implications for eyepieces. I'm
told that wide FOV eyepieces are less important with a binoviewer, so
rather than duplicating Naglers, I'm thinking of getting a small set of
pairs of the best eyepeices I can afford. It seems from the replies
that there is no obvious reason not to consider these new Orions.
I'll probably be asking more eyepiece and binoviewer questions as I go
along in this process, but for now, I just want to say:
Thanks TAC. You guys are the best!
Clear skies to all!
Bob J.
