Judging by all the OT posts over the years, I think it is impossible to
control any discussion. TAC relies on the self-control of its members.
Clearly we sometimes stray. When we do stray, it is not my intent to police
off-topic discussions or sanction those who participate in them. I'm hoping
that occasional reminders will be sufficient for people to regain their
sense of what is on-topic and appropriate for a public forum. If members
disagree with my reminders or suggestions, then they should continue to
post.
The discussion about FP needs to occur. But, in my opinion, we don't have to
make our candid remarks for all the world to see. So, I am suggesting the
discussion could be taken private.

Thanks for the info Steve. I didn't know that.
Peter, my apologies to you. I didn't know you were the official liaison.
When you post updates about FP, I recommend you ask people to send you
comments by private e-mail. I know that limits people from seeing comments
made by others, but it also limits the number of potentially embarrassing
remarks. Again, a suggestion.
Thanks.
