(My buddy Chris Spurrell, who has once been at Coe, just sent this
mindblowing bit of info.)

"The Number of Visible Stars
George Van Dyke Tiers of St Paul, Minn. notes a recent revelation by
Simon P. Driver of the Australian National Observatory. Driver said that
the number of stars visible to modern telescopes is 70 x 10e22, about
ten times the number of grains of sand on the world's beaches and
deserts. Within experimental error says Tiers, this is about 1 mole of
stars."
