It is true that acetone will eat more things that alcohols will, so I think
that's the safer choice. Perhaps the call for reagent grade methanol is a bit
overboard, and some lesser grade would suffice.

I'm gonna try this technique. My favorite EP is a bit grungy after last
weekend's MM!
