I am sorry, I found your response was to the point but didn't address the
intent of my question. Considering the discussion that is in progress, what
I was refering to was a set of rules that govern the use of the mailing
list. The two links that you provided give an outline of the spirit of TAC,
which seems to be quite broad. But, it doesn't mention what can or can not
be posted.
I found this particular section quite interesting;
"Are you inexperienced but think you may like amateur observational
astronomy? Your participation is most welcome. You need not have any
knowledge of the sky or equipment. Beginners are encouraged to come out and
learn the sky and view its wonders with other, more experienced observers."
This is inviting, encouraging and convinced me to attend one of the events.
And, most people at the event were quite patient and ready to help.
Shouldn't this also be the theme of the mailing list?
