Randy Muller has maintained TAC's observing report archives for the past
few years and has done a great job, not only maintaining them, but also
adding to their appearance and utility. I did the job for some time as
well, and know firsthand that it is a job that is not intended as a
permanent position for anyone, and occasionally a change is needed. It is
time for a new archivist, and to thank Randy for all he has so generously
and frankly, thanklessly done.
I had agreed to take back the job of archivist, but subsequently decided to
spend my time working on other projects. Since I had initially offered to
do the job, I want to be the one to find a replacement. It is an easy job,
and to my thinking one that builds lasting value for other amateur
astronomers to use and enjoy. Please contact me privately if you are
interested in contributing a small amount of time to this project.
I want to say thank you to Randy (thank you Randy!). Randy is one of the
people of whom it can be clearly said is an asset to the local observing
community and (through the observing report archives) well beyond.
