Your AOL 6.0 mail program is probably treating the MIME encapsulated
formatted content of David's messages as attachments. Most emailers would
recognize this pattern ("multipart/alternative") and only display the
'text/enriched' or 'text/plain' part as they saw fit...
Example of one of David's messages raw source is (with the bulk of the body
text deleted)...
