HI Chuck.
I think we will all need some more experience with the Sky Clocks to
see how well they work in practice.
This morning and afternoon (Thursday), the forecast clock for
Montebello went through today, all of tonight, tomorrow morning, and
Friday to 5pm. That was enough to forecast tonight's observing
conditions, and also to show a trend towards even clearer conditions
tomorrow into late afternoon/early evening (Friday) .
The information on the Canadian Meterological Center site says
that CMC numerical models and 48 hour forecast sets are often made
between 9 and 10 pm PDT at night, and between 9 and 10 am PDT in the
morning. From Steve Sergeants email correspondence with Attilla
Danko, it sounds like the schedule may be less predictable than
this. However, I hope the updates will at least be regular enough
that during the morning and afternoon, people will be able to see a
recent prediction for that night's conditions at different locations.
