Just attended a school Outreach at a middle school in the Riverside area of
    S. CA, today. The school Outreaches are some of the most enjoyable events in
observing, may be quite basic but the OOhs and Ahhhs are so worth taking the
    day off of work.

And out of the elementary grades, you can see a reaction so exciting that you
can see a new observer being born in front of your eyes.

If you haven't tried participating in an Outreach, get on an Outreach team
with a local club and get out there and introduce astronomy to a new open
mind. I have a couple of members on my team that observe almost exclusively
    at Outreach events.

If you happen to live in the Inland Empire of S. CA, check out the web site
for the RAS, go to the Outreach page, see what you think and join us for an
    upcoming event.

    Al Fink
    RAS Outreach Director
