OK, TAC-AListas, here's the latest. I had sent our roster update to the AL
in August, finally got a verification in tonight's mail. Everyone is signed
on.
There's been a turnover of executive secretaries, which I gather is no mean
feat. Janet Stevens had the job for years, and now Jackie Beucher has taken
on those reins. The decks should now be clear.
Two concerns remain for me. First, our 4 Messier award winners have been
waiting patiently for months (October I sent these in). Scott Kranz wrote
me last week and said he was gonna get off the pot. Good, we're waiting.
Secondly, Forehand and now Staples didn't get their Reflector last month. I
got mine, so I know it came out. Forehand's is in process.
Now listen, if you didn't get your AL magazine last month please e-mail me
at this address, my home address _not_ the open list, and let me know.
Please include your current snailmail address so I can double-check my
listing.
I just want to assert two things. 1) This is not a scam, there really is an
Astronomical League, they have your 3.50 not me. 2) That roster and those
award notes went out in a timely fashion from here; the problem is not
local.
Nobody's really selling anything here, the AL is a volunteer outfit with
the purpose of furthering our hobby, largely thru the awards programs.
OK, now if anyone wants to join, we can start up fresh. One new person
expressed interest, and two of us have finished their Herschel 400's, and
might just want to get those cool pins and certificates.
If you do, please just send me a check made out to me for $3.50, including
your home snail address.
